Carl Proper is retired, after forty years as a member and staff member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union and its successors, UNITE and UNITE HERE. Prior to that, he served three years as a community organizer for the U.S. Peace Corps in Panama City, Panama. For the first ten years of his life, he lived in Yellowstone Park, Wyoming. He is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard College. This space will be used to comment on labor and economic issues mainly, but also on science, religion and other matters that interest me.
